Currently, our chapter provides disaster relief and military services to people of all ages in Arenac, Bay, Huron and Tuscola counties, regardless of their background. Additionally, vital community services are provided to low-income families, individuals, youth and infants in Bay and Arenac counties. The chapter served over 20,000 people last year.

The East Shoreline Chapter is a largely rural area of 221,771 people in four counties, (109 cities/towns) which covers a 2,461 square miles. The 2000 census data revealed there are 86,691 households in the chapter.

Currently, approximately 15.1% of the chapter’s population is people years 65 and older – well above the 12.3 % average for the state. In Huron County, our largest county geographically, nearly 20% of the population is over the age of 65. That number is expected to dramatically increase over the next five years.
